Following a 9-year moratorium on the construction of new Onshore Windfarms, in July 2024 the UK government announced a commitment to doubling Onshore Wind Energy to 35GW by 2030.
It is estimated that to achieve this target the number of personnel employed in the Onshore Wind Energy sector will need to increase five-fold from 5,000 to 30,000 by 2027.
